CCL prepares for Brexit.

Spring Clean Brexit

Spring has officially sprung! After the heatwave over the Easter weekend, now’s the perfect time to dust off those unwanted components and make space for future projects.

Recently, in the UK we have been faced with so much market uncertainty surrounding our exit from the European Union and we are no closer to knowing the future of Brexit. The recent uncertainty has meant that many electronics manufacturers have found it difficult to forecast for production. This coupled with ongoing supply issues means electronics firms are holding on to more stock than they normally would.

CCL’s Managing Director, Adam Chinery, noted that key organisations within the electronics sector are experienced in managing fluctuations in component demand but with the uncertainty surrounding Brexit this has become even more difficult.

Now with the news that Britain is to remain a member of the European Union until as late as October 31st 2019, we want to remind electronics manufacturers to compile a list of excess, obsolete, slow moving electronic component stock. This list may have already been done as part of a year-end financial or stock audit.

Our team will evaluate the list and offer a price for the excess stock. Where there has been so much volatility in the component market, you may be holding on to high value stock.

100% focused on excess stock management, managing excess inventories for OEM and EMS customers since 1997. We can help you generate significant cash flow and free up warehouse space with Line/Lot item purchase or Consignment.

Export Compliance Officer at CCL, Jolene Adams, added “We have been liaising with the Department for International Trade (DIT) to gain the appropriate licences. In the case of a ‘no deal’ Brexit, CCL has obtained the new European Open General Export Licence (OGEL) (OGEL number GBOGE2019/00178 – Export of Dual-Use Items to EU member states). In conjunction with the OGEL, we also have the Transitional Simplified Procedure (TSP) for importing goods to the UK.

To avoid any possible delays with shipping during this transitional period, we have recently set-up warehouse facilities in Hong Kong and Italy.

Send your list of excess, obsolete, or slow moving electronic component stock to info@oemXS.com for a no obligation evaluation or call +44 1404 540 300 to speak to one of the team.
